GRETA Journal

Preservation and Self-archiving

Planned preservation arrangements

GRETA Journal plans to deposit its published articles in Zenodo, a free repository. Deposits will include the version of record and its bibliographic and licensing information.

The planned deposit package includes each article’s version of record, bibliographic metadata, copyright and licensing information, and supplementary files forming part of the publication. Deposits should accompany publication. The editorial office must retain deposit confirmations and check that the files and metadata are complete and accessible. Corrections, retractions and other notices must be deposited and linked to the affected record, preserving the publication history.

Routine website and database backups will support technical recovery. They are separate from independent preservation: a hosting backup alone does not provide continuing public access if the journal or publisher stops operating. The publisher must document the arrangements for discontinuation, ownership transfer or a change of hosting platform. The planned repository operates under its own repository policies and terms of use.

Author self-archiving

For articles submitted under the relaunch policy, authors retain copyright and may deposit the submitted manuscript, accepted manuscript and published version in institutional or subject repositories without an embargo. Published articles will carry the CC BY 4.0 licence. Permissions do not override separately identified third-party material or obligations to protect confidential research data.

Repository copies should clearly identify their version and, when available, cite the original journal publication and link to its article URL or persistent identifier. The applicable licence should accompany the deposited version. Authors should link to any later correction or retraction notice. Anonymisation of files submitted for review remains necessary even when a preprint is publicly available.
