On the use of authentic audiovisual material in the teaching of English Studies courses. A sample of activities

Abstract

The main objective of this article is to present a didactic proposal consisting of several activities involving the use of audiovisual material. These activities have been designed for the English Studies degree and they have been divided into four subject areas, namely use of English, Linguistics, Translation, and Literature. Previous to the presentation of the activities, the reasons for using videos in the English Studies classes were set out.
